Explore an instrument or voice
Read what to ask a teacher, what equipment to discuss and what to look for in a first lesson.
Guitar
Choose the sound and style you want to explore: acoustic accompaniment, classical repertoire or electric guitar. These can require different instruments and teaching approaches.
Piano
Clarify whether your goal is reading classical repertoire, accompanying songs, improvising, or preparing for a named examination. Ask the teacher how the lesson plan supports that goal.
Violin
